Case study

KSB INTAX developed new investment agreements tailored to the individual requirements of NBank, the investment and development bank of Lower Saxony, as well as a client portal. Among other things, the investment agreements are made available via the client portal through an integration of Lawlift in the form of automated, interactive templates. In this way, NBank’s investment managers can configure and save the new model agreements according to their needs.

The past

Before the implementation of the new solution, investment agreements at NBank were created manually. Every adjustment required individual edits, which was not only time-consuming but also increased the risk of inconsistencies and errors. Furthermore, the existing contract templates were poorly standardized, which in return caused inconsistencies and made the process more difficult.

The new approach

To address these challenges, the commercial law firm KSB INTAX, in cooperation with NBank, developed an AI-supported knowledge database. The core of this solution is the integration of Lawlift, a platform for document automation. By using Lawlift, intelligent, standardized contract templates were created, which enable the investment managers at NBank to efficiently generate GDPR-compliant investment agreements with various options and specific pre-selections. These templates are accessible via a specially developed platform managed and maintained by KSB INTAX. The platform ensures user-friendly operation and allows attachments to be exported as Word and PDF documents. In addition, access to Lawlift is restricted so that it can only be accessed from within NBank’s network, ensuring the security and confidentiality of the data.

Impact

The implementation of this solution led to significant increases in efficiency at NBank. The automation of investment agreements saves NBank considerable costs and time in the long term. At the same time, KSB INTAX reduces its own research effort and can focus more on advisory activities. This project has also been recognized externally: At the renowned JUVE Awards on October 25, 2024, in the Alte Oper Frankfurt, KSB INTAX was honored in the categories “Law Firm of the Year for SMEs” and “Law Firm of the Year North.” Special mention was given to the AI-supported knowledge database project for NBank, which brought significant efficiency gains to both the law firm and its client.
