With the Legal Tech Monitor 2025, the Legal Tech Association Germany (Legal Tech Verband Deutschland) has, for the first time, published a comprehensive market study of the German market for digitalizing legal services. Written by Dirk Hartung and Lauritz Gerlach, the monitor sizes the market at roughly 300 companies with at least 6,200 to 10,000 employees.

Lawlift is listed among the frequently mentioned German legal-tech providers — alongside names such as Bryter and June, as well as international vendors.

What the monitor covers

The study draws on a survey of around 400 participants from across the legal-tech market — law firms, legal departments, providers and the judiciary — supplemented by expert interviews. One central finding: more than 80% of providers are integrating AI into their business models.

Lawlift’s presence in this market overview confirms the role of deterministic document automation as a fixed part of the German legal-tech market.
