Administrators deploy the Lawlift Word Add-in centrally through the Microsoft 365 admin center, so it appears in Word for users automatically - no manual install required.
Step by step
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and open Settings → Integrated apps. For a full walkthrough with screenshots of this exact flow, see Roll out the Word Add-in centrally.
- Click Upload custom apps / Get apps and choose deployment via the manifest file provided by Lawlift (URL or file upload).
- Set the assignment: specific users/groups or the entire organization.
- Review the requested permissions (read/write access to documents) and the application registered for Single Sign-On, then confirm the deployment.
- Finish the wizard. Distribution to clients can take some time, depending on Microsoft 365.
Good to know
- Visibility for users: After rollout, the Lawlift button appears on the Word Home tab; no manual install is needed.
- Single Sign-On: For automatic sign-in, the associated Microsoft Entra application must be granted admin consent by an administrator - see Sign in & Single Sign-On.
- Licensing: Without access entitlement, users see “Word Add-in access restricted” - see Getting access.
- Note: The exact navigation in the admin center may change on Microsoft’s side; the steps here follow the standard “Integrated apps” flow.
